Interview with Gray Forrester

GREGARIOUS SINGER FOR THESE BONES, HEALER OF SOULS

Gray: “You’re curious about me aren’t you? Go ahead ask your questions.”

Marly: “What’s with all the black?”

Gray: “Ah… yes, the black. Well, let me start by saying that we are not devil worshipers or vampires. Although we like to pretend to be sometimes, vampires I mean.”

Gray: Anyone else? I love answering questions…

Robin: Why top hats?

Gray: Top hats are a necessity for a Goth like myself, lest I catch a bit of sun. Wouldn’t want to burn… or tan. God forbid…

Maria Bernard: Thank you so much, Gray, for taking the time to answer all of these great questions. I know you are a busy man. I am very appreciative of the fact that you’ve set aside time from your schedule to be here.

Gray: You are most welcome, dearest Maria. It was my pleasure. As busy as I am, remember this, I will always make time for you and for our readers. If ever you need me to stop in, I am just a dream away. Ciao for now, sweetlings.

  1. Hello Gray. I recently read Marly’s and your story. I know you like to dress up as a vampire. Is that your favorite paranormal creature?

    1. Wonderful question, Kristy,

I do enjoy dressing up. I find it helps me deal with my terrible stage-fright. As far as vampires go, well, they are the sexiest of paranormal creatures. So, yes, I suppose that makes them my favourite kind. Not only are vampires beautiful, they live forever. Much like a vampire, I want to live on forever, in your psyche. 😉

  2. Hello, Gray. I have to confess that upon reading your story, I fell head over heels in love with you. Like Marly, I was a victim of abuse and you handled her perfectly. My question is sort of trite, but why are there no pets in your lives? As a goth, I am partial to cats. Just curious. Hoping to see some little “gothlings” someday. Toujours!❤

    1. Dearest Sally,

Firstly, I must insist that you not apologize for your questions or your opinions if we are to have a proper converstation. Your question is not trite (your word, not mine). This is a very valid question indeed. In fact, all questions are valid if they come from your heart. As you know, I’m all about the heart.

Now to answer your question… As you know, before we met our significant others, my housemates and I were bachelors, living the life, coming and going, in and out of the mansion at all hours. Also being performers, our schedules were all over the place. It would have been irresponsible and unfair to the creature.

But looking to the future, I would love nothing more than to adopt a pet. I love them all, cats, dogs, either or. But I must say, I’ve always wanted one of those fluffy white kittens on the toilet paper ads. You know the ones. What are they? Persians? Yes, can you imagine how good we’d look together? Perhaps, I’d get him a little top hat!

      1. Or perhaps a Russian Blue, like I have. They are silver-grey and would match your eyes beautifully!

        1. Oh my, how handsome!
Perhaps even a bit too handsome. Dare I say we might even cancel each other out? This Russian Blue pussy would have to win me over with his or her personality first. Hmmm… sounds a lot like sharing the limelight with that twin brother of mine, Falquen. Well, Sally, you’ve given me a lot to think about here. I’ll have to get back to you on this.

  3. Dear Gray,

I know you love to watch horror movies. Do you have one in particular that is your favorite? Do you watch other genres as well?

    1. Once again, a wonderful question, Kristy!
My latest favourite horror movie is Crimson Peak. I love everything about it. The creepiness, the clothing, the setting. Have you seen it? I quite enjoyed Interview With A Vampire (Not surprised, are you?) Once again for the clothing, the setting and the time frame. Another one that comes to mind is Only Lovers Left Alive, starring Tom Hiddleston and Tilda Swinton. I highly recommended it!
I’m not so much into the spoofy slasher flicks. I much prefer movies with a captivating storyline.
Besides horror, I do enjoy the occasional documentary. And of course, I love a good drama every once in a while (As if I don’t have enough of that going on). But really, can one ever have enough drama? 😉

  4. Dearest Gray,

Yes, I had the opportunity to see Crimson Peak recently. I’ll agree it is creepy, and the wardrobe is amazing. However, I’m not sure if it was scare enough for me. I have seen Interview with the Vampire as well as read the book. Love both. I haven’t seen Only Lovers Left Alive. Will have to check it out.
You totally caught me off guard with the whole drama thing. Did not see that coming. What kind of dramas do you like?
Do you have a favorite song?

    1. Hello, Kristy, I see you snuck in another question. Good thing I though to check my messages.
Many favourite song… I have many a favourite. My tastes are all over the map. While I write mostly gothy inspired music, when I listen I prefer a wide range of styles. A couple of my favs are Saudade Bandida by Zezé Camargo & Luciano, When You Say Nothing At All by Alison Krauss & Union Station, and Kiss Them For Me by Siouxsie and the Banshees. As for a drama, I quite enjoyed About Time, a Drama Fantasy Romance starring Domhnall Gleeson, Rachel McAdams, Bill Nighy.

    1. Hello, Robin,
In fact, yes, they have. Marly’s parents were quite thrilled to come watch the band perform. While a tad leery at first, they were simply happy to be a part of Marly’s life. Since I am so much a part of that life, we both felt it necessary to include them. I feel I have a great relationship with Marly’s parents. I love Marly fiercely. Her mother and father know I have their daughter’s best interest at heart. Besides, Marly’s mother loves me. And why wouldn’t she?
